Project to collect and analyze daily COVID-19 data from the Center of Disease Control, new Mexico Department of Health, New York Times, US Historical Data Project, and Worldometer, with a focus on data concerning New Mexico and the US. The aim is to create a track record of the daily data provided by commonly accessed sources to create a time series for analyses. The reason for doing so was not to provide epidemiological projections, but to better understand the data average New Mexican residents (with limited to no data science or epidemiological experience) would have access to, and how those sources may paint different pictures of the pandemic unfolding.
